Round Head Optimized

MagMod modifiers have been redesigned and optimized to now work beautifully with round-head flashes as well as the standard popular rectangular head Speedlites as well.

Almost 50% Lighter!

As part of a complete redesign, the MagSphere 2 has been optimized for the latest round-head flash designs without compromising on MagMod's trademark modifying magic. And the results are impressive: the MagSphere 2 is now almost 50% lighter than before, making it noticeably more comfortable to use during long events where on-camera flash is required.

In fact, it's so light that you may forget it's even there!

Modular Modifications

The MagMod modular system means you can stack modifiers on top of one another to get the perfect control, shape, and color of light from your flash. For instance, stack a MagSphere on top of a MagGrid for a beautiful spotlight with a nice transition of light from the brightest parts to the shadows.

You can even stack Pro Gels in and then mix to add color to your light for more dramatic effects.

Flexible Silicone

Made from durable silicone rubber, the MagSphere 2 can be squished to fit any backpack or camera bag. It easily pops back into its original form. Simply attach it to the MagGrip 2, and your flash is ready to fire.

How it works

Give Your Flash a Superpower

The MagGrip 2 is a durable silicon band with two super strong neodymium magnets embedded inside it. After stretching the MagGrip over your flash you will now open up the possibility to attach any MagMod modifier to your flash instantly, thereby opening up a whole new world of creative flash control. It all starts with the MagGrip 2.

See it in action

The MagSphere Diffuses Light Beautifully

Instantly transform the harsh light of your flash into a soft, omni-directional, bare-bulb light source while increasing the size of your light-emitting surface by over 250% for a softer glow over a bigger area.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the MagSphere 2 work with the original MagGrip?

While all MagMod 2 products are compatible with the previous MagMod system, you will have the best possible experience when using each modifier alongside other modifiers of the same version.

What is the difference between the MagSphere 2 and the MagBounce 2?

The MagSphere is an omnidirectional diffuser. This means that you can point it directly at your subject, or you can use it to bounce light from ceilings or nearby walls. It increases the size of your light-emitting surface by over 250% for a softer glow over a bigger area. MagSphere is a favorite of all of our modifiers. It's extremely versatile, and can be used with our MagGrid for even more control.

Do I need a MagGrip 2 to use the MagSphere 2?

Yes, you will need the MagGrip 2 to attach any MagMod Modifier onto your flash. It is the "adapter" piece that is the base of our system. It has two super strong rare earth magnets embedded in it so that all of the other MagMod Modifiers (with magnets also embedded) attach to it quickly, quietly, and securely.

    Colors!

These make it so easy to be creative and swap out mid shoot in seconds. Such a good purchase, I usually use them on a white backdrop to change the color.

Love MagMod system but this blue gel doesn't match the color

I'm a huge fan of MagMod system, have been using it for 2,5 years now on weddings and sessions. Love how easy it is, and have been using the correction gels for beach sessions (using the 1/2 blue one makes the sunset even more "sunsetty").

Thus, when the 2nd generation of these correction gels came out, I was more than excited to use them, as they're so easy to mount now. However, I was very frustrated by the result from the first wedding I took it to. The gel is not 1/2 blue at all, but like full blue or more - the example shot is the out of the camera file with temp at 6050. To balance this blue hue now, I had to pull the WB temp all the way to the top (or use masks). This never happened to the 1st gen correction gels that I eventually had to come back to.

You can also see on the photo how different the 1st and 2nd gen gels look even from the outside.

I reached out to MagMod support and they didn't comment much on the issue itself or if it would be resolved shortly (3rd gen gels??), and the end result was a 50% refund for the gels that I still got to keep. As I'm most frequently using the 1/2 blue one, I'll just have to set aside these gels and keep using the 1st gen ones.

I still love MagMod products and keep using them on the weddings (the new MagSphere 2 is amazing!), just that this one in particular did not work for me, and if you're a photographer who is looking for a similar solution, be aware that this 1/2 blue is much more intense (I haven't tried the…

    Great Product

I love the mag sphere. I have the original and ordered the newest and am so happy with both. The new one provides more broad assistance for external flash so I am impressed with it! Thank you!
