All I have to say is this is BIG really big, it can store lots of stuff but it’s HUGE. Because the softbox is HUGE. It’s is not the Magbox “SMALL” case.
BUT what makes this even more of a useless case is the fact that in order to store your magbox in it. You have to take off the magring, and diffusion material, and everything comes apart in order to be stored in the box.
This would have been a much more intelligent design if you could leave the diffusion panel and the msg ring attached so all you do is pull it out push it open and slap it on a stand. Unfortunately that’s not the case (no pun intended). With this you have to rebuild it everytime.
Do not buy this unless you go from studio to studio and are holding all your gear, flashes, both diffusion panels, etc... and are totally cool rebuilding the magbox everytime. Otherwise for run and gun shooters like myself it makes living with the magbox even more painful than it already is.
My review of the magbox is posted on their starter kit if you’re interested.
Hey there Colbe, I am really sorry that it doesn't fit your needs. While it is true that no one product can truly meet everyone's needs we do try to listen and learn from our Photographers. You had some really good input.
I have thoughts and question for you :)
One of the abilities that our case has that most others don't or are not designed to do is store more than just your softbox setup. For instance, on top of your entire MagBox gear you can also store two speedlights, extra batteries, extra MagMod gear i.e. a MagSphere stuffed with a MagBounce and a few grids. I even fold up a rain jacket in the top zip-down lid. The questions, does the case's ability to store an entire shoot into one tiny compact bag change your perception of its uses and functionality?
Again, thank you for your thoughts. They challenge us to be better.
