After years of following Magmod content I took my 1st steps into OCF modifiers. This is a great starter kit. I’m mostly concerned with portability. Hence the reason I’ve bought an ad300 and ad100. Those flashes keep my kit light.

The mag system is easy to set up and breakdown. The small carry case (paid for separately) fits everything pictured except the soft box obviously. Being new to the strobe world system, my only gripe is, I didn’t realize the mounting system of the ad300 doesn’t fit the default reflector xl system. I wish they had an option when you select the package to choose the Godox mount (no additional charge). I wound up buying a converter (Godox to Bowens) to make it work. I’d also like for them to have an additional item selection on the page (paid for separately) for the godox speed ring adaptor. I haven’t used the magbox with my ad300 because of this. Also, to complete the set an option to choose a mag grid xl (paid for separately) would top this package off. The grid controls light spill so well that it’s a must have item. Plus the xl grid fits the mag ring making it an extra modifier to have available for my ad100.

Lastly, if this package came with the option to choose the type of soft box of your liking ( 42, 24, or even strip) I think it could help those that want a larger (42) or separate shape (strip) modifier. Other than that, I guess I have to get shooting. There’s so much to learn, thanks magmod.

This bundle got me equipped with everything I needed to enter into the XL world plus some extras for my Godox V1. I use the XL with my 600Pro and it was perfect. Super easy to use and worked great for bringing it onlocation alone without needing an assistant to help with a giant soft box.
