Universally awesome.

The MagGrip’s universal design attaches to almost any hotshoe flash ever made, making it one small investment that grows with you and your business.

Want to upgrade your flash later down the road? No prob. The MagGrip works with a variety of mixed flash brands, so you won’t need to upgrade all of your modifiers when you move up to a different size flash. You’re welcome.

Velcro is for grandma’s shoes. Not for speedlites.

Gone are the days of fighting with annoying velcro, sticky adhesives, bulky straps or mad scientist DIY contraptions to secure modifiers to your flash.

With two freakishly strong magnets embedded in the MagGrip, you can add and remove our magnetic modifiers in an instant. You’ll work more efficiently—and look like the professional you are.

Speedlite grids done right.

Nothing to lose. Nothing to break. Faster than lightning.

We’ve taken the typical grid and redesigned it, making our MagGrid a super durable, magnetized honeycomb grid.

Easier than Instagram. Just as fast.

With the MagGel, you can add and correct color on the fly—even under challenging shooting conditions.

Pop up to 3 rigid gels, which are based on standard Rosco colors, into the MagGel. They’re secure and ready-to-go in 2 seconds tops.

Finally, gel sheets
that don’t suck.

No cutting. No taping.
No crumpling. No nonsense.

Our rigid plastic gels slip into a durable, magnetized rubber sleeve without any hassles.

Because you can never have too many modifiers.

With the MagGrip on your flash, you can instantly (and quietly!) add our magnetic modifiers to control the color, shape, and level of light in your shot.

Stack as many MagMod modifiers on top of the MagGrip as your heart desires—in any order. Go nuts. Get creative.

With MagMod gear simplifying your process, you can actually focus on your photography.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will MagMod Work With My Flash?

We know it’s hard to believe that a system can truly be universal, but with MagMod it’s true!

MagMod’s magnetic modular system begins by installing the MagGrip onto your flash.

The MagGrip is a patented design made of high quality silicone rubber which makes it easy to stretch and fit onto almost any hot-shoe flash.

There’s only one MagGrip design, so you don’t have to worry about getting different sizes for different flashes. In fact, we made this list of flashes that we’ve found work great with the MagGrip.

Canon 380EX, 420EX, 430EX, 430EX II, 540EZ, 550EX, 580EX, 580EX II, 600EX-RT

*The Nikon SB-900 has a small button on the underside of the flash head.  Nikon uses this to tell the flash when you have mounted the included Nikon diffuser, and forces and restricts the flash to zoom to 14mm, it’s widest setting.  Sometimes with the MagGrip installed, the button will be depressed, and you will not be able to change the zoom on your flash.  Nikon apparently realized this flaw and improved it on the SB-910.  If you shoot with a SB-900, you can try adding a washer or some layers of tape to prevent this button from being depressed.

Will Magnets Damage My Camera Gear?

Will magnets damage my camera gear?

In as few words as possible, we can confidently say: ABSOLUTELY NOT.
But to make you feel a bit more comfortable about the idea of having powerful magnets around sensitive electronics, we made a video showing you how magnets are completely safe around flashes, cameras, memory cards, radio transmitters, and other sensitive electronics we use everyday as photographers.

To further prove that our magnets won’t harm the vast majority of your electronic equipment, we ran the same test against our iPhone and Macbook.  The iPhone and Macbook both have solid-state hard drives, which is the same type of storage as your CF and SD memory cards.  As long as your electronic devices are using solid-state media, your electronics are going to be just fine around magnets.  In fact, most smartphones and tablets today have magnets inside if the devices themselves!

We do want you to be aware of certain types of electronics that should definitely be kept far away from all types of magnets, including:

  • older spinning hard drives
  • credit cards
  • older televisions
  • speakers
  • and most importantly, pacemakers.
Where Can I Purchase MagMod?

We believe the best place to purchase MagMod is directly from our website!  Visit and select which modifiers you would like to purchase.

We also have most all of our modifiers (without some of the savings like our website has) on Amazon here: MagMod Amazon
You can also see a list of our authorized dealers here: MagMod Authorized Dealers

What Is The Beam Angle For The MagGrid?

A single MagGrid produces a 40° beam angle.  Because of MagMod’s patent-pending modular design, you can alter your beam angle even more by stacking additional MagGrids on top of each other.  If you stack (2) MagGrids, you’ll produce a 20° beam angle.  Stacking (3) MagGrids will yield a 15° beam angle.  You can stack up to 8 MagGrids to achieve a 5° beam angle, but we do not recommend using more than (4) MagGrids at once. If you’d like to stack more than (3) MagGrids, we would recommend using the MagSnoot as it will be a tad easier to adjust and control your light.

To learn even more about the MagGrid or MagSnoot, discover more about each modifier and how it can improve your photography.

Easiest way to get started with MagMod, I have 3 of these Basic Kits, one on each flash. There could not be an easier way to enhance your flash than MagMod. I recently purchased a Godox AD200 and put a MagGrip on it. I use it in a small portable softbox with MagGels to get perfect color on my portraits and also to with MagGels to change up the background. If you use flashes and don’t have all the MagMod products you are really missing out on fast, convenient, durable modifiers. The possibilities are limitless with these fabulous products. Get some!

Gives complete control of light. Either you are a Pro or a learner like me, this gives endless possibilities of creativity and one less thing for you to worry about when you focusing on creating the shot you plan.

I really love this kit! I put off buying it for a long time because I wasn’t sure how much I would use it, but I use it all the time now. In fact, the best part about this kit is how it has changed my thinking about lighting. It’s quick and convenient, so I enjoy thinking about and trying to create new lighting setups. Sure, I would use my softbox all the time if I could, but I live in Kansas where it’s windy so often and I like the lower profile and ease of use of the magmods. It’s really changed the lighting game in my photography! Highly recommend!

Very easy to use, saves time and money! Must have item for flash users!

Every so often we see a innovative idea that changes the way we do things. The magmod system is just that to photography. Adding gels is so simple, no more tape or Velcro attachment, and no more flimsy gels. Modifiers, go on just as easy.
If you want to simplify the way you capture images, and get amazing results, I highly recommend the magmod system.
