You’ll need the MagRing + MagGrip. The MagRing allows you to use 1-2 speedlights or a round head flash. The MagGrip connects the MagRing to the flash itself.

You’ll need the MagBox Speedring Adapter. This attaches directly to your strobes - no MagGrip needed. You'll need to select the adapter with the correct mounting style to fit your specific studio light.

Is the MagBox Pro 24 Octa compatible with the modifiers I purchased for my original MagBox 24’’ Octa?
The original MagBox Gels are indeed forwards compatible and the FocusDiffuser that was available for the original MagBox 24’’ Octa is compatible too. Both are still available for purchase.
Will the MagBox Pro 24 Octa work with my original MagRing?

I bought this coming from an old 32 inch softbox that can't collapse thinking that this might be too small.
It's actually an excellent size and really holds up for outdoor work when you need a strobe but are concerned about windy conditions.
The fast collapsing/expanding ability combined with the quality of light this little guy produces really makes me reach for it every time now and leave the old box at home. Definitely going to pick up the big 42 one for my studio, but this 24in will always be my new outdoor portrait companion.

Better Version of a Great Modifier
I already have the orignal MagBox 24, but decided to get this one. Not only because I can use more than one at a time, but the feature set really improved.
What's better than magnets? Zippers & Pockets!
The previous version connected the diffuer with magnets. Better than velcro, but it still takes a bit of time and fiddling around. This one has an internal pocket for the diffuser. Pull it out and just zip it around. It's on in seconds.
I also bought the corresponding grid, which attaches with magnets. Simlple to use and silent, unlike velcro.

Great for On Location shoots
I've recently made the leap into off camera flash and I knew that magmod was the way to go for light modifiers. This magbox sets up so quickly which has been a huge positive for on location shoots. I have to lug all my gear around, setup, and tear down quickly. The magbox makes all of that hassle free. The built in diffusion and magnets for easy grid attachment further speed up the process. I'm so glad I went with the magbox and I'm looking forward to adding more!

Portable and easy
This 24 Octa shocked me with how versatile it really is. It is also so fast to set up which, for me, is MagMod’s best feature. We need quick and quality and MagMod gives me this.
