The MagMod Starter Kit is the perfect introduction to the world of off-camera flash photography. It includes everything you need to take your lighting to the next level: the MagGrip, MagGrid, and MagSphere. Thanks to MagMod's innovative, magnetic, stackable design, these accessories can be easily attached and detached from your flash, allowing you to create diffused, directional, or focused light in seconds. 

We know it’s hard to believe that a system can truly be universal...

But with MagMod it’s true!

The MagMod modifier system works because of the universal design of the MagGrip 2. The MagGrip 2 is a patented design made of high-quality silicone rubber which makes it easy to stretch and fit onto almost any hot-shoe flash. In addition, the MagGrip 2 contains two rare earth magnets used to attach the MagMod line of flash modifiers including the MagGrid 2, the MagSphere 2, the MagBounce 2, and more!

There’s only one MagGrip design, so you don’t have to worry about getting different sizes for different flashes. While we haven't tested the MagGrip 2 with every flash on the market, we are confident that the MagGrip will work with most flashes that have a rectangular flash head and round head flashes.

It all starts with the MagGrip 2. With the MagGrip on your flash you can instantly (and quietly!) add any of MagMod's magnetic modifiers to control shape and direction of flash.

You can even add a MagMod Pro gel to change your flash's color, density, or hue in a snap.

With MagMod gear simplifying your process, you can actually have more time and energy on the creative process in your photography.

MagMod 2 modifiers were completely redesigned to reduce size and weight while optimizing for new round-head flashes without compromising on the modifying magic of MagMod.

Does the Starter Kit work with round head flashes?

We are happy to say that MagMod 2 is designed to work with the new popular round heads such as the Profoto A1, Godox V1, and  Westcott FJ80, as well as standard rectangular fresnel head flashes!  MagMod 2 modifiers were optimized for current round-head flashes and each is optimized to be used with new MagMod 2 modifiers better than when used with original MagMod modifiers.

Is the Starter Kit compatible with the original MagGrip?

While all MagMod 2 products are compatible with the previous MagMod system, you will have the best possible experience when using each modifier alongside other modifiers of the same version.
